Last updated: This policy applies to your use of TdsPicker at tdspicker.com. Please read it alongside our Terms and Conditions.
Our approach to privacy
TdsPicker is built to do its job with as little of your data as possible. We run giveaway draws from public Threads comments, and that task simply does not require us to gather a large amount of personal information. This policy explains, in plain language, what we read, what we store, why, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected] and we will explain it.
Information we collect
Public comment data. When you paste a public Threads post URL into the tool, we read the public comments on that post so we can build the list of entries and draw winners. This is the same information visible to anyone who opens the post. We read it to run your draw; we do not go looking for private information, and the tool cannot access anything that is not public.
Account and billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we need an email address to manage your account and a way to process payment. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number; Stripe handles card details under its own security standards and privacy terms.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, our servers may automatically record standard information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This helps us keep the service running, diagnose problems, and protect against abuse.
What we do not ask for
We do not ask for your Threads password, and we do not use an OAuth login to your Threads account. You never hand us the keys to your social account, because the tool does not need them. We work entirely from public post data.
How we use information
We use the data above to load comments and run draws, to provide and maintain your account, to process payments and manage subscriptions, to respond to your support messages, to keep the service secure and prevent misuse, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in to your account, to remember basic preferences, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Some cookies are necessary for the site to function, such as those that maintain your session. Others help us measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some of them may affect how parts of the site work.
How long we keep data
We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we need to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Comment data loaded for a draw is processed to produce your result; any exports you create, such as CSV files, are yours to keep and store as you see fit. We aim not to hold data longer than we need it.
Who we share data with
We share data only where it is needed to run the service. That includes our payment processor, Stripe, for handling subscriptions, and trusted service providers who help us host and operate the website. These providers are only permitted to use your data to perform services for us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public. We do not sell or rent your personal data to advertisers.
A note on public data and the people in your comments
When you run a draw, the entrants are people who chose to comment publicly on a Threads post. Their usernames and comments are public on Threads already. If you export a list of entrants or winners, you become responsible for how you handle that information. Please use it only for running and verifying your giveaway, announce winners in line with what your entrants would reasonably expect, and don't repurpose people's data for unrelated marketing without a proper basis to do so.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to ask what we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us at [email protected] from the address linked to your account so we can verify who you are. We will respond within the timeframes the law requires. You can also cancel a subscription at any time, which stops future billing for the monthly plan.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold, including working with reputable providers like Stripe for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects you, we will act in line with our legal duties.
Children
TdsPicker is intended for adults running giveaways and contests. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us, and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
We may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. Where we transfer data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to an appropriate standard.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the service or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate. Continuing to use TdsPicker after an update means you accept the revised policy.
